2019 Summer List

In continuing the annual tradition of this column, we provide a list of 10 specially selected and newly discovered tracks that has emerged during summer months. It is an eclectic list that ranges from Jesca Hoop (image) to Peter Frampton’s collaboration with Sonny Landreth on a cover of B.B. King’s “The Thrill is Gone” to Chris Thile’s foray into jazz/blues mandolin on the traditional song “Scarlet Town” and the haunting vocals on “Adidja” by Mbuso Khoza who hails from the rolling hills of Eshowe in Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa. Another great list to savor on the back porch in the cool of the evening. The sequence of songs listed is recommended to enhance the effect of the whole experience.
